See previous blog for more information about Baking GALS.

Hello, this round Team Caring and Sharing is baking for my friend's nephew. Jonathan is a First Lieutenant with the Marines currently serving in Afghanistan and previously stationed in Iraq. He is originally from Portland, Oregon, and is the youngest of five kids. Having recently graduated from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, he plans to return to the east coast to be with his girlfriend upon completion of his 11 months deployment in Afghanistan. There is very little internet access where he is stationed so letters and packages are very much appreciated. He enjoys running, reading, writing, cooking Indian food and spending time with his girlfriend, Mara, and their cadre of stuffed animals (their only pets until they're more settled). He's never met a cookie he didn't like, but favorites include cowboy cookies, classic chocolate chip and carrot cake cookies.
I have been part of Baking GALS for about a year both as leader and baker on other teams. I love to bake and share and know that our baked goodies and packages are the perfect way to show support for our troops and appreciation for the sacrifices they make for our country. Jonathan's mother and family appreciate us thinking of him and I know he and those in his unit will be thrilled to get our packages. Our support is especially important to these marines away from their families during the holiday season. So let's all get our oven mitts on and start baking!
Thanks for reading. Please join my team and email me at  designbakeshare@gmail.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have any questions.
